Eti-Osa Bar Forum has called on lawyers residing or having their practice within Eti-Osa and Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Areas of Lagos State to join the Special Taskforce against COVID-19 constituted by the Forum.

Arising from an Emergency Executive Committee Meeting and Special Taskforce against Coronavirus, the Task force will commence its work on Thursday , 16th April, 2020. Interested lawyers willing to be part of the Taskforce are to converge at the Eti-Osa Bar Forum Secretariat by 11am.

The assignments of the Special Taskforce against COV-19 includes but not limited to Security Support , Health support , Food and Essential Distribution Support, Prison Decongestion Advocacy, Criminal Justice Assistance, Legal Aid and Human Rights Defence.

The Emergency Executive Committee Meeting also reviewed the state of the Young Lawyers’ Forum of the Eti-Osa Bar Forum and unanimously appointed Joan Ohwaguono Esq as the Chairperson of the Young Lawyers’ Forum while Victory Ilu(Omo Onile Lawyer) and Alero Edu retain their positions as Secretary and Vice-Chairpersons, as well as Wole Anjorin Esq as Publicity Secretary respectively. The new leadership of the Young Lawyers’ Forum was further tasked with relating with young lawyers within the jurisdiction of the Forum in terms of welfare , continous legal education and socials.

The meeting also appointed Emeka Nweze as Welfare Secretary. The meeting also mandated the Continous Legal Education Committee of the Eti-Osa Bar Forum with the mandate to organise webinars for members on the social media platforms of Forum during the period of the lockdown.
