National Industrial Court orders the Police service commission, IGP to reinstate dismissed officer.

The National Industrial Court, Benin Judicial Division had on November 17, 2021 ordered the Police Service Commission and the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, to immediately reinstate Mr. Esosa Aignubasinmuim, FN/368144 into the Nigerian Police Force as SERGEANT.

This follows a judgement delivered by Hon. Justice A. A Adewemimo in which he declared the purported dismissal of Mr. Esosa Aignubasinmuin from the Nigeria Police Force as unlawful, null and void and of no effect whatsoever. In a statement issued by counsel to the claimant Mr. Esosa Aignubasinmuin, Dr. Samson Osagie and E. M Iguelide, Esq. They urged the Police Service Commission and the Inspector General of Police being the agency and authority created by the constitution to immediately obey the judgement of the National Industrial Court by reinstating their client into the service of the Nigeria Police and avail him all his necessary entitlements since his dismissal from the Police did not follow the due process of law as enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and other relevant statutory provisions. They expressed the hope that the Judiciary has given justice to their client, thus serving as a bastion of freedom and justice for the oppressed in the society.Mr. Esosa Aignubasinmuin had, in 2018 challenged his unlawfull dismissal from the Police through a process that neither give him fair hearing nor followed the procedure for discipline of serving officers of the Nigeria Police.
